and Gonçalo Furtado

1.
The reserach developed last year at the 'Program of International Studies' of the Universidad Javeriana, was done under a very profund theoretical profile, studying deeply the topic of New Technologies under the light of a reinterpretation of the meaning of practice in Architecture and the content of cultures. Conceptually it was based in the interdisciplinary that takes place when architectonic thought relates with Arts, Design, Philosophy, as well as areas involving the growing development od scince: computer scince and bio-technology.

2.
The project exhibited was developed under the direction of Professors Carlos Hernandez and the invited portuguese critic and professor Goncalo Furtado, it was centered on the idea of designing a 'Critical Artefact' in the complex context of the post-modern city.
The authors belive that, beyond the converncional practices there must be critical acts to the productive surroundings. They insert themselves in a practice, that does not distinguish cultural production from social intervention. It´s a practice that avoids being mere instrument of it´s reproduction, of the degrading status quo focusing initially on the auto-critic of the Architecture-instituion itself, conceiving 'other' culturally critical artefacts present on the 'borders', that ambitionate to produce a post-modern interventive disciplinary body. The poststructural speech infiltrates the institutional speech to discipline, wich we inherit.
